Wolves edged out fierce competition to be named Talking WoSo FAWNL Premier Division Team of the Month for September.

Wolves kicked off a stellar month by coming out on top in the hotly anticipated clash against title rivals Nottingham Forest; Anna Morphet’s lone goal after the hour mark was enough to seal an all-important three points in front of a crowd of 392 fans at CKW Stadium.

With their unbeaten start to the season intact, Wolves’ attention turned to the FAWNL Cup, where they defeated a gutsy Leeds team to progress, before rounding off the month with a strong 2-3 win against Huddersfield Town to move three points at the top of the Northern Premier Division.

Since earning a well-deserved promotion as a result of Upward Club Movement, Dan McNamara’s side have taken to life in the Nothern Premier Division seamlessly and confirmed what many people believed: they were a Tier 3 club long before they were awarded the opportunity to ply their trade at that level.

A sentiment true for August and even more so for September as the Midlands side is named Talking WoSo FAWNL Premier Division Team of the Month for September.

An honourable mention to the Wolfpack

While there’s no doubt Wolves have delivered on the pitch, the wolfpack, who have recorded an average attendance of 399 this season, have certainly played their part off the field. A12th player of sorts, and likely to play a pivotal role during the course of what they hope to be a very successful season.
