Hashtag United have been named the Talking WoSo FAWNL Division One Team of the Month after a perfect month which saw the Essex outfit record four victories, scoring 22 goals in the process.
Jason Stephens’ side began the month with the 4-0 win Enfield Town before turning their attention to the FAWNL Cup, where Malika Apindia starred in an unfamiliar role up front to score a hat-trick in an emphatic 7-0 victory over divisional rivals Stevenage.
Having secured their place in the next round of the cup, the Tags rounded off a perfect month with further wins against Cambridge United and London Seaward to move three points clear at the top of the table and established themselves as the early frontrunners to the Division One South East crown.
The Tags’ stellar month means they stand alone as the only Women’s National League side to win a perfect four games from four during the month of September. An impressive feat worthy of being named the first-ever Talking WoSo FAWNL Division One Team of the Month.
Fun fact: Hashtag United’s current form is certainly nothing new. In fact, the Essex outfit last tasted defeat in league action more than twelve months ago – the club’s solitary league defeat since Spencer Owen merged Hashtag United with AFC Basildon to form Hashtag United FC Women in April 2020.
